So... Yogyakarta eh???

Yogyakarta

population = 500,000 + people... (plus loads who have been displaced by Mt Merapi)..

close to temples - Borobudur-a Buddhist temple (http://wikitravel.org/en/Borobudur) &  Prambanan- a Hindu temple  (http://wikitravel.org/en/Prambanan) ....
loads of seismic activity, prone to natural disasters!
Mt Merapi - still volcanic mudflow coming out as I write this! Though they say it should be       safe from a small eruption for 2-3 years and a big one for 10-15 years.

This was taken on 5th January 2011, ganked from yahoo..

Massive earthquake 2006 in Yogyakarta killed 6000+ and left 300,000+ homeless.

I am interested to see how the city of Yogyakarta looks now and if they're rebuilding/rehousing people because of both of these events. I'm
worried about going to a place that seems to be so volatile!

And, of course, this will be going through my head as we come in to land at Adisucipto International Airport...

But now this is all off my chest I'll be alright! :)
